Top exec lands new role after merger

Peter Rigby, manager of Merisel's advanced products group, has been tipped to head the networking division of newly merged CHS/Merisel.

Announcements are due late next week on the internal organisation and individual responsibilities within the firm, which was created by CHS Electronics' acquisition of Merisel Europe three weeks ago.

Since then both companies have been attempting to merge their operations.

Rigby would not comment on what his role would be in the new company.

'Nothing will happen until the end of September due to clauses in the contract with CHS regarding sales and stock valuation,' he said.

'Similarly, it would be unfair to comment on new roles and responsibilities, as that would detract from those currently filling the posts. The end of September is the cut-off point.'

PC Dealer reported last week that the former COO at CHS Europe, Garry Boon, will run the merged CHS/Merisel in the UK, putting Merisel UK MD Richard North's future at the firm in doubt.

US reports named Larry McNenamy as worldwide head of Lotus channel sales, replacing Don Bulens. His main job will be to meld Besteam and Lotus channel initiatives together.
