Uniter invests for VAR success

Support services firm ploughs £1.5m into new stock from vendors including Cisco, HP and 3Com

Extra stock will allow Uniter to provide onsite fixes in as little as four hours

Technical support outfit Uniter Group claims it can provide a more rapid service to VARs carrying out break-fix services after snapping up another £1.5m worth of spare parts and components.

The firm claims the extra stock from vendors including Dell, Cisco, HP, 3Com, Linksys, Netgear, APC and NEC will enable its own staff or engineers at channel partners to provide onsite fixes in as little as four hours.

The investment is part of a growth programme designed to enable Uniter to provide a new selection of IT support solutions.

“We have also launched a new range of IT support services to meet an increasing demand from resellers,” explained Uniter Group director Jason Williams.

“They include IT health checks, remote infrastructure management, distributed IT support and IT life cycle management, in addition to bespoke post-warranty IT hardware maintenance services for multi-vendor environments.”

Uniter said that all parts and components are available for overnight delivery, which it claimed enables resellers to minimise downtime for their customers.
