Professional Computing Association bans two member firms

PCA acts on members for failing to adhere to the PCA Code of Practice

The Professional Computing Association (PCA) has expelled two member companies for failing to adhere to the PCA Code of Practice.

Vantage Computers, which trades as Vantage Direct, failed to conform by not responding to the Association’s attempts to solve customer problems, and has allegedly failed to refund at least one customer’s pre-payment.

Genie Support Services, also known as CPU Direct, has failed to respond to repeated requests to cease promoting itself as being endorsed by the PCA and stating that it is the official provider of insurance products to the PCA and its members – neither of which is true, the PCA claimed.

Keith Warburton, chief executive of the PCA, said: “Customers must be able to rely on suppliers that sign up to the PCA’s Code of Practice. If we failed to act in such cases, both the Code and the PCA logo would count for very little.”
