Synaxon celebrates 'record' membership
Organisation claims more established resellers are cottoning on to the benefits of its EGIS system
Derek Jones: Resellers are determined to get as much competitive advantage as they can
Dealer group Synaxon is claiming a record rise in the number of new members joining its ranks, particularly from the more established mid-sized resellers.
The organisation lays the credit for this recruitment rise at the foot of its EGIS online sourcing system, which allows resellers to see items in stock and access special pricing through Synaxon distribution partners such as Ingram Micro, ETC, Midwich and CMS Peripherals.
Since the start of January, 33 companies have joined Synaxon, bringing the total number of UK members to some 594 resellers. This is the highest number of new members joining in a single month since the UK operation was established at the beginning of last year.
Of the 33 new members that have joined Synaxon over the past month, almost half have turnovers of £1m or more, and five of them have annual sales of more than £7m.
Derek Jones, UK managing director of Synaxon, said: “The past 12 months were really tough and resellers and dealers have come back in the New Year determined to get as much competitive advantage as they can. If they can find a way to be more efficient and reduce their costs, they will.
“With EGIS they can do both and make the most – not only of the special terms we provide, but also of their own separately negotiated agreements with distributors.”
Jason Nixon, business manager at VAR iTeamUK, appeared happy with his membership.
“From a sourcing point of view, we anticipate that having free access to all the distributor systems through EGIS will be really useful and enable us to deliver a better and more reliable service to our customers,” he said.
