ANS clinches NHS networking deal

Reseller announces latest NHS contract win

ANS claims infrastructure overhaul will improve staff access to patient records

Reseller ANS Group has been appointed by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust to overhaul the hospital’s network infrastructure.

The deal will see ANS replace the trust’s ageing network infrastructure with Cisco Nexus technology, a move the VAR claims will help reduce the trust's hardware and administration costs.

The trust’s employees will also benefit from improved network access to patient records and better business continuity, ANS added.

Paul Sweeney, managing director at ANS Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust on a project that will allow for broader IT infrastructure improvements at the organisation for years to come, such as virtualisation.”

Linda Durham, network architect at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said the VAR’s experience in healthcare IT deployments made it stand out from the crowd during the tender process.

She added: “This latest investment in infrastructure will deliver notable efficiency benefits for service users and employees, as well as ensuring our commitment to future investment in technology is supported by a simple, flexible architecture.”
