Fujitsu brings warranties in-house
Fujitsu has brought its scanner aftercare in-house, providing an added service for its channel to sell.
The Fujitsu Assurance Programme (FAP) offers a warranty package on all Fujitsu scanners sold after 18 July this year.
Currently, warranties for Fujitsu scanners are provided by a wide range of companies throughout Europe. By bringing the provision of warranties for all scanners under its own control, Fujitsu said it will be able to offer the channel a straightforward, easy-to-use package that will increase customer satisfaction. For the first time, Fujitsu is also offering an add-on warranty upgrade package and an out-of-warranty service.
Hidetoshi Fukuda, general manager of Fujitsu’s Imaging Systems Division, said: “The document management industry is not that big at the moment, so we decided we needed to promote it in order to grow it.”
“FAP will definitely benefit resellers. By taking the provision of warranties in-house we will make resellers more comfortable and make it easier for them to sell our scanners. The resellers I have already spoken to about this new warranty are very pleased.”
David Hennell, commercial director at distributor Northamber, said: “We’re pleased that Fujitsu has brought its warranties in-house, as it will provide more credibility. They’ve also added a whole new raft of offerings to the warranties.”
