RM nets Ealing BSF deal

VAR to team up with Balfour Beatty to provide IT services to 16 schools in the region

RM has grabbed a £39m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) contract to supply IT services for 16 schools in the London Borough of Ealing.

Partnering with preferred bidder Balfour Beatty, RM will start full delivery of managed IT services to an initial 15 schools by January 2011, with full services for all 16 schools from April 2012.

Services supplied will include classroom technology, wireless mobile device support, thin client technologies, interactive teacher toolkits and a dedicated learning platform for Ealing, backed up with educational support and training.

RM will also supply other resources such as classroom voting systems, visualisers, video conferencing equipment and the Isis Concepts VerTable.

Terry Sweeney, chief executive of RM, said: "Ealing Schools are already extremely successful and well provisioned in terms of IT. Through BSF they're looking for a partner that can help take them to the next level.
