SCC takes flight with London City Airport
Pan-European integrator signs deal to overhaul the airport's IT infrastructure
SCC has won a five-year deal to supply London City Airport with IT
Pan-European integrator SCC has secured a five-year contract to supply and maintain the PC infrastructure at London City Airport.
SCC was selected from a list of over 30 possible suppliers, with London City Airport citing the integrator’s relationship with British Airways as an important influencing factor in its decision.
Jason Bamforth, London City Airport's ICT director, explained: "Because SCC was already working for one of our most important customers, British Airways, I was able to gain an important and personal recommendation, which supported our decision to change provider.”
Bamforth added the new contract with SCC should save the airport more than 10 per cent in annual costs and has been warmly received by the airport’s end users.
Antoinette Smedley-Walsh, Strategic Account Director at SCC, said: “Having successfully completed the transition phase, we are now focused on realigning the technology estate to enhance reliability and DR capability.
“We’re advising London City on a long term strategy to transform its infrastructure into a cost and carbon efficient environment, using cloud computing where appropriate.”
