Trustmarque scoops another MoD victory
VAR chosen to supply SISYS' security access systems to the MoD
Software licensing VAR Trustmarque Solutions has been selected by Integrated Security Management vendor SISYS to supply the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with its security access systems until 2010.
Armed with the knowledge that the MoD was looking to consolidate the number of supply contracts it was dealing with, SISYS approached the four suppliers on the Information Assurance (IA) Enabling Contract and decided to partner with Trustmarque.
Trustmarque has an existing two-year contract with the MoD, which the VAR won in September to provide encrypted hardware and IA related software.
Rob Cornish, MoD business development manager at Trustmarque, said: “We have been working with the MoD for almost four years on a number of contracts and we are very happy to be able to extend our offering.
“The SISYS product range provides a lot of opportunities for us to provide added value to the MoD, so we are extremely pleased SISYS selected us over the other IA providers.
Cornish added: “We will now look to see how we can extend this offering outside of the MoD and into the private sector.”
SISYS has supplied the MoD with a range of solutions for more than 15 years, including door-entry systems and entry access passes with the associated hardware and software.
Colin Leatherbarrow, general manager of SISYS, said: “We were looking to align ourselves with an approved IA supplier, so that we could continue working with the MoD, but also to increase our level of service and support for our customers to make our business more accessible.
“We reviewed all four suppliers and Trustmarque was the best. We feel that we will really benefit from using these relationships to open doors that may have otherwise been closed, helping us to expand into new sectors, and continue our aggressive growth plans for 2009.”
SISYS was acquired by fire and security organisation Chubb Electronic Security in April 2001.
