Sun spots new channel boss
Gary Nugent appointed UK channel manager as Steve Raby departs
Sun has appointed a new channel manager for the UK after Steve Raby, the firm's UK partner sales director, said he would leave at the end of June "to pursue other business interests". Raby could not be contacted as CRN went to press.
Gary Nugent will transfer to the UK from Sun's operation in Geneva this week. He joins the board of Sun UK with immediate effect as iForce partner and mid-market sales director.
Philippe Weppe, enterprise mid-market and channel director for Sun Europe, said: "Sun as a company has to continuously move the right people at the right time.
"Gary has the right expertise for the UK and made a major contribution to the European business as the head of EU pre-sales. This is good for Sun in the UK."
Henry Williams, business development director at Sun VAR GNS, said the mid-market target was beneficial.
"Sun has focused on the mid-market in partnership with VARs for 12 months, and it has been good for both parties. That part of the market is very solution-oriented," he said.
