Panasonic kit is targeting the education sector

Panasonic has appointed Northgate Managed Services as an education technology solutions provider.

Northgate will resell Panasonic’s education portfolio, including Panaboard interactive whiteboards (IWBs).

David Hyland, education market managing director at Northgate, said Panasonic’s product range would appeal to schools.

“Panasonic offers the education market a cost-competitive and versatile portfolio of solutions,” Hyland said in a statement.

Other Northgate vendors include Microsoft, VMware, Compuware, Symantec, Citrix, Cisco, Citrix, Apple, Sun, HP and Dell. The managed service provider has 1,000 staff in Britain.

It is involved in the government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, supporting schools using technology in Kent, Bristol, Leicester and Blackburn.

Peter Dempsey, Northgate account manager at Panasonic, said Northgate was selected because of its special expertise and relationships within the education sector.

“The C2k partnership [in Ireland, involving 1,200 schools over seven years] particularly gives Northgate extensive knowledge and experience useful to help deliver precisely the technology solutions required for the education market,” he said.
