Partnerships lift Convergence
Solihull-based integrator claims that strategic partnerships have helped it unlock the door to growth
Systems integrator Convergence Group is focusing on beneficial partnerships to help it continue growing revenue and headcount.
The Solihull-based firm has increased its headcount from 23 to 35 this year and has a further four positions open. The company sells its data offerings through resellers.
Commercial director Neal Harrison said: “We are focused on recruiting technical savvy and expertise; our sales force is the channel.”
Convergence Group recently invested £750,000 in the development of its network operations centre. The centre monitors, manages and resolves customers’ network irregularities.
Harrison revealed his company had enjoyed revenue growth of 250 per cent in the 2007/8 fiscal year.
The company recently announced a strategic partnership with services specialist Anix. The firms claim Convergence Group’s communications nous will complement Anix’s services and architecture know-how.
Harrison revealed strategic partnerships had been key to growth.
“When we started out, we did not have a massive pedigree,” he said. “To meet our ambitions we started to partner with businesses that had been established a lot longer.”
Alastair Edwards, senior analyst at Canalys, said strategic partnerships had to be carefully managed.
“There are strong arguments for doing this in the current climate as it reduces the need for big investments in new areas,” he said.
