Crane Telecommunications to showcase Avaya products

Comms distributor to undertake a series of roadshows

Comms distributor Crane Telecommunications will showcase Avaya’s latest range of products to resellers during a series of roadshows in February and March.

The tour will include product demonstrations on both Avaya’s enterprise and SME technology. More than 160 VARs are expected to attend.

John Howard, UK sales director at Avaya, said: “It is more important for resellers to attend than ever, because we’ve just had a number of key product launches. This will show them where they fit into the market.”

He added that Crane was one of the few distributors to conduct training events across the UK, rather than at Avaya’s premises.

The roadshow will roll into Guildford on 27 February, before stopping off in Leeds on 6 March, followed by Coventry on 7 March.

Howard hinted that Avaya is set to raise the bar on its distributors in 2007 to broaden its reseller base.

“At the moment it is done on a 50/50 blend of value-add and quantity. But we want them to add more pre- and post-sales support and help resellers design solutions,” he said.

Runa Macleod, marketing director at Crane, said: “Avaya is Crane’s biggest division and we’ve been running the roadshow for several years. It is a tried and tested method of getting information to resellers.”
