Ingram Micro broadens EMEA horizons
Distributor looks to products outside the IT space to help grow its business
Life outside IT: The broadliner is expanding its relationships with 'non-IT' vendors
Ingram Micro is broadening its coverage in EMEA with the launch of its dedicated Logistics Division.
According to the distributor, the move is to diversify its business and increase growth opportunities “including to non-IT clients”. The firm has for some time shipped 'non IT' goods in North America including books, jewellery, appliances, white goods and accessories.
The new division offers a range of services including warehousing and fulfilment, transportation management, customer service, billing and collections, supply chain analysis, merchandising and assembly, reverse logistics and IT.
Alain Maquet, EMEA president at Ingram Micro, said: “While Ingram Micro is known as a global leader in IT distribution, we also have been partnering for years in North America with companies outside of IT, including major international brands that rely on us to effectively distribute their products, such as household goods and appliances, apparel, books, jewellery and accessories.
“We support our new vendors with the same type of order accuracy, on-time shipping and logistics centres that our IT vendors have benefited from for decades. Ingram Micro is the only distributor offering all of these services in one place, helping partners grow their existing business and expand into their markets of choice,” he said.
