InfoGuard woos VARs for UK market charge
Encryption vendor to focus on smaller resellers for its flagship Layer 2-Ethernet offering
Encryption vendor InfoGuard has propelled itself into the UK marketplace and is keen to recruit a network of channel partners to push its flagship EtherGuard Ethernet device.
The firm, a sister company to Crypto AG, has appointed Bernard Everett as sales director western Europe to spearhead UK channel growth. It has also signed Focus Europe as its first VAR in the UK.
Everett told CRN: “My goal is to hunt for relatively small but focused reseller partners that are looking for cutting-edge technology such as ours.”
Everett claimed that because the vendor is the only one in the market to offer Layer 2-Ethernet Encryption for both one and 10Gbps Ethernet networks, it will help its VARs gain a competitive advantage over rivals.
“Any firm using a high-speed link or which has high volumes of data, will benefit from our product,” he said. “We are currently talking to several customers in the financial sector.”
Everett said the firm would stick to a single-tier channel programme.
“A two-tier model is difficult for a firm such as us because we do not have a commodity-type product,” he said.
Gareth Jones, managing director of Focus Europe, said: “We concentrate on providing network encryption solutions to the marketplace across Europe, and InfoGuard is the only company to offer a solution that runs on 10Gbps networks. It is also refreshing to work with a European-based company rather than a US firm.
“We have only signed with it for a few weeks and are updating our customer base, but we are already talking to financial institutions about using its products,” he added.
