Nuance looks to build better Connections
Speech recognition vendor looks for partners to sign up to first formalised channel scheme
Chain reaction: the launch of its first partner programme will see Nuance recruiting healthcare, legal and insurance specialist VARs
Vendor Nuance is hunting for more UK resellers to push its speech recognition and imaging software, following the launch of its first formal partner programme.
The US-based firm claims to command a 95 per cent share of the speech recognition market and is the number-two PDF player behind Adobe. It recently moved into the Mac speech recognition market by acquiring MacSpeech.
The Connections scheme will see Nuance offer partners formalised MDF, training and lead-generation tools for the first time. Top-level Elite partners must sell £75,000 worth of kit a year and mid-level Premier partners £25,000.
Steven Steenhaut, the company’s senior marketing director, admitted the vendor’s 175 UK partners had not always had a high level of support due to its focus on integrating 42 acquisitions in six years, but said Connections would address that.
Nuance is also recruiting, particularly for healthcare, legal and insurance specialists in speech recognition.
“The way people interact with PCs and mobile devices will change and we want to prepare the reseller community for this,” said Steenhaut.
