Qudis is ?closed? by clerical error
Specialist network distributor Qudis has found itself on the wrong end of an administrative error.
Qudis, now part of the SCH group, employs the services of factoring agency Kellocks, based in Wokingham, to take care of its purchase ledger.
On Thursday last week, Qudis customers received a letter from the factoring company advising of a change in the way that account was being handled. The letter erroneously stated that Qudis had gone into liquidation and all accounts were now being handled by KM Stewart, a firm of liquidators based in Glasgow.
As soon as it realised its mistake, Kellocks contacted all Qudis customers to reassure them that Qudis was not going into liquidation.
Kellocks? marketing manager Jill Phillips, said: ?This was an administrative error which has now been corrected. It was nothing more sinister than that. Obviously we?re concerned that a mistake of this nature was made at all, but we have taken steps to reassure all Qudis? customers.?
David Ives, Qudis MD, would not say if any further action needed to be taken.
?This has been a severe embarrassment for everyone concerned. I cannot comment on the possibility of any action being taken. That?s a matter to be discussed between ourselves and SCH.
