Sandvine sets its sights on system integrators

Vendor looks to recruit UK partners as a part of its global expansion plans

Broadband technology vendor Sandvine is on the hunt for channel partners as it looks to expand its global footprint.

The vendor provides offerings that enable ISPs to monitor and analyse network traffic at packet level and reduce operating costs for customers. Sandvine’s three core products are Sandvine Security Operations, a policy traffic switch dubbed PTS 8210 and its peer-to-peer element 8200 switch.

Chris Coleman, managing director of EMEA at Sandvine, told CRN that the vendor currently operates a mainly direct sales strategy. However, he added that the vendor is now looking to sign with between two and three system integrators in the UK.

“We are looking to expand our partner network and are reviewing markets country by country,” he said.

“We are looking for partners with an established infrastructure in this type of market. We want to grow our presence on a global scale and are aggressively looking to bring new reseller partners on board in the future.”

Adam Taylor, senior sales executive at reseller ADA Networks, told CRN that Sandvine’s progression seems prudent, provided that it has done its research.

“Using system integrators with an established base and knowledge is sensible,” he said. “This technology is in high demand with many ISPs. Sales can also be made into businesses that are looking to monitor user activity on the network.”

Sandvine, which completed an Initial Public Offering in March this year, recently announced its financial results for the six months ended 31 May. The vendor’s turnover grew by 168 per cent to $14.3m, compared with the same period last year. Its net loss fell by 64 per cent to £700,000, compared with a loss of £1.95m for the same period last year.
