Hammer server sales a hit
Storage distributor reports bumper server sales in January
Ward: Attributes success to sales of Microsoft and Intel products
Storage distributor Hammer has claimed that sales of server products reached an all-time high in January.
The firm said revenue was up by 34 per cent on the same month last year – making it the most successful period for server sales in the company’s 19-year history.
James Ward, managing director of Hammer, attributed the firm’s success to its server-focused partnerships with Microsoft and Intel.
“Hammer servers are bespoke and built to order. The customer receives a solution tailored to their individual needs rather than a ‘closest to’ approach,” he added.
Bob Tarzey, service director at market watcher Quocirca, said the distributor had done well to buck the trend in a difficult market.
“To achieve low-price wins in a commodity market you need to be supplying what people want,” he said. “Microsoft Windows is the most popular operating system and Intel is the most widely used brand, which has helped Hammer to win on price and buck the trend.”
