Counterpane offers safety cover
Round-the-clock monitoring service brought to UK channel.
Counterpane Internet Security is offering UK resellers the chance of recurring revenue streams and follow-up sales with its network security monitoring service.
The company monitors customers' networks for security breaches over the internet from its secure operations centres in the US.
The service is 24-hour and customers are immediately contacted when an unauthorised user accesses their network.
The scheme has also been recognised by Cisco as a value-add service for its partners and forms part of its Avvid partner programme.
Since last month, Counterpane has been a partner and an integral part of the networking giant's safe security blueprint (CRN, 7 February).
Cisco's US Avvid-based programme will be launched in the UK before the end of the year.
Counterpane has already secured its first partners and customers in the UK and will go through the channel with all its sales. Resellers get a subscription payment for introducing customers and can make sales and consultancy turnover on products.
Luca Bertagnolio, European product marketing manager security at Cisco, said the Avvid programme with Counterpane offerings will launch in Europe by the end of the year.
"We work with companies like Counterpane to build products on top of our own products," he said.
Peter Crowcombe, director of marketing UK at Counterpane, said: "We already have an information-sharing agreement with Cisco that allows us to develop our monitoring product to work with its products."
The firm has a similar relationship with network vendors such as Checkpoint and Watchguard.
