RSA card set to give incentives to resellers
RSA Security to revamp its SecurWorld Partner Programme
RSA Security is gearing up to unveil a raft of incentives for channel partners this summer as part of its revamped SecurWorld Partner Programme.
The first incentive is an RSA Visa cash card, first revealed by CRN in March (CRN, 17 March). This gives resellers cash rebates on sales, and can be used like a normal debit card in any outlet that accepts Visa.
RSA is offering the Visa card to all its Solutions and Access Partners. Rewards will be on a per-deal basis: $100 for sales of SecurID licences or $150 for appliance sales.
Jo Pettifer, international channel programme manager at RSA, said: “We want to ensure that we have a really good partner programme in place. There needs to be a balance of rewards and motivation for partners.”
The card is a long-term incentive, according to Pettifer. She added that the vendor will announce more incentives next month. The first 100 partners to register for the card will receive a $50 bonus from RSA. Rewards will also be back-dated to sales made in May and June.
David Henderson, sales director at VAR Armadillo, welcomed the Visa card idea.
“As long as it is flexible enough to allow for special bids and quirky pricing scenarios, and RSA takes ownership of the administration, it is something we would endorse,” he said.
“It is definitely not something that other security vendors have offered before and is clearly an effort by RSA to get closer to its channel.
“It is always nice when any form of additional margin is made available to partners, regardless of the shape or form it takes.”
