Brown drops into SCH
Prime minister visits Birmingham-base behemoth for industry chat
Specialist Computer Holdings (SCH) welcomed a special visitor to its Birmingham premises recently in the form of Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Brown was on a promotional visit to the region to visit key business and learn how they were engaging with their staff and promoting a local workforce.
Sir Peter Rigby, chief executive of SCH, said: “As a business that is generating positive results in difficult times, the prime minister was particularly interested in our apprentice training and re-skilling schemes – introduced under our own initiative – and our views on the digital economy – how to leverage IT for competitive advantage.
“We also discussed the importance of access to capital: specifically, to fund future planned investment and the critical issue of decreasing trade credit insurance,” he said.
