HP shocked at AWE win
Vendor wins 10-year deal with warhead supplier
On target: HP has won an extension to its contract with Trident supplier AWE
HP has bagged a $66m (£45m) infrastructure services deal with the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) – the firm that makes warheads for the UK's nuclear deterrent, Trident.
The 10-year deal will see HP deliver a range of workplace services to AWE’s 7,000-strong end user base.
This includes service desk and site support services, asset management, licence management and procurement of computing devices.
An ongoing PC refresh programme is also included in the contract, which is a renewal and extension of an existing workplace services contract between the duo.
Craig Wilson, vice president, HP Enterprise Services, UK & Ireland, said: “It is critical that AWE has an environment that enables fast and secure access to its systems and data and the ability for employees to collaborate at all levels.
“We will continue to apply proven processes using our deep industry and technology knowledge to deliver services that will allow AWE to meet its cost and customer service goals.”
