ANS wins Enterprise support contract

Reseller secures three-year renewal deal with support services firm and appoints two new members to its board of directors

VAR ANS Group has secured a £500,000 contract with support services company Enterprise to oversee its network and server infrastructure.

The three-year deal, which was awarded after a lengthy tender process, despite ANS being the incumbent support provider, propels the value of ANS Group’s support services to more than £3.2m a year.

ANS also won a £300,000 contract to upgrade Enteprise’s Cisco network infrastructure for the creation of a new datacentre. Under the deal, ANS will replace the old core Cisco infrastructure with two new core switches featuring the networking giant’s virtual switching system (VSS) technology.

Paul Sweeney, managing director of ANS Group, said: “This is a great win for ANS Group. We’re delighted to have beaten the competition and renew our relationship with Enterprise. Our support services are very strong. This contract win demonstrates once again the high level of expertise and customer focus within the team and the determination not to let the economic downturn effect ANS Group’s performance.”

Graham Billsborough, Group IT Director at Enterprise, said: “ANS Group is a highly responsive technology partner for Enterprise; we rely on them to keep our systems running within our service levels. Bringing an all-round technical competence, they are especially strong in the support and development of our Cisco systems. The innovative and reliable approach to delivering proactive and flexible services has been a deciding factor in renewing the contract for the next three years.”

In separate news ANS Group has appointed two new board members with almost 40 years’ experience in the technology industry.

Sales director David Hutton and operations director Richard Gascoigne both join the board with the remit of maintaining the VAR’s growth rate and profitability and ensuring the firm has best practice procedures in place to support future expansion.

Scott Fletcher, chief executive of ANS, said: “David and Richard have joined us at an important time and we will be calling on their expertise to help us deliver our ambitious plans. Their appointment comes at a time when the general economy is suffering, but at ANS we are still investing and growing. They bring fresh views and knowledge to the company and we are excited to have them with us as we plan for the future growth and development of the company.”
