ACC wants Var-studded router signings
Networking vendor ACC wants to recruit about 100 Vars to sell a sub-#500 remote access router launched last week.
The firm said it may sign another distributor, possibly pan-European, to join Logitek, Data Connectivity and Toplog UK. But Martin Cassidy, VP of EMEA at ACC, said the priority was to handle a more volume-based market by recruiting enough Vars to its accreditation programme.
?Logitek, which we signed in July last year as volume distributor, is shifting stacks of Congo routers already,? he said. ?We need to sign up as many access-related dealers as we can to really capitalise on the remote worker and small branch office market.?
Cassidy claimed ACC?s Congo Personal, which retails at #499, was the first fully fledged router to break the #500 barrier, but also maintained good margins. ?Our competitors bring user costs down, but are squeezing dealer margins.
?Price into the channel is the important thing and we cannot fulfil demand unless dealers are making good money by helping us.?
