FSC quick to reassure VARs after restructure
Fujitsu claims that its corporate reshuffle will benefit its channel
Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) has claimed that its recent executive restructure will cause no disruption to its channel partners’ businesses.
The restructure came after Mark Basham, former large enterprises director at FSC, left the company “by mutual consent” (CRN, 8 May). Ian Snadden, former channels and SME director, has been promoted into Basham’s role, while Ian Newall, former general manager for SMEs, has been appointed to Snadden’s previous position.
Snadden told CRN that FSC’s corporate reshuffle was ultimately good news for the channel.
“Ian Newall has a lot of experience in this area, and he’s always been set-up as my successor,” he said. “When the opportunity for me to leave [the position] arose, it meant there was no channel disruption.”
Snadden added that his own departure would not signal changes to any relationships between FSC and its channel partners.
“I don’t think there are any imminent changes needed in my previous role, but we are always reviewing our relationship with the channel in an attempt to improve it,” he said.
Newall, FSC’s new channels and SME director, agreed. “There will not be any immediate changes,” he said. “I have been at FSC channels for four-and-a-half years now, so I don’t see any reason why the channel should have any concerns.”
Shaun Frohlich, executive chairman of FSC VAR Teksys, said: “Snadden has a lot of channel experience, and it’s nice to know that the man at the top of the food chain is an experienced player. It’s a shame Snadden is moving on, but it can only be a good thing that FSC is putting a ready-trained and experienced person in his place.”
