Fortinet sharpens distie axe
Unified threat management vendor set to reduce UK distribution line up
Fortinet is known to be looking hard at its UK distribution line-up
Fortinet is remaining tight-lipped on rumours that it will imminently axe at least one of its four UK distributors.
The unified threat management vendor is known to be in talks with VCW, VADition, Bell and Arc Technology as it seeks to tidy up its distribution strategy.
Several other large security vendors have recently moved to rationalise their distribution channels. This includes McAfee, which moved from four to three UK distributors this summer and Websense, which now only has two distributors after recently canning Bell.
In a statement, Fortinet said it was “unable to provide comment at time of publication”.
Distributors were also unavailable to comment for contractual reasons although a resolution to the process is expected around mid-October.
