Computerlinks appoints Stephen Burley
Distributor hires Burley to its multimedia networking team as technical consultant
Distributor Computerlinks has strengthened its home-automation offering with the appointment of Stephen Burley to its multimedia networking team as technical consultant.
Burley has spent 12 years involved with IP and was among the original developers of the internet in Europe.
John Turner, head of the multimedia networking division at Computerlinks, said: “Stephen’s role involves supporting our resellers and installers on networking technical enquiries in relation to HomeLogic and our other audiovisual and control systems. He is also tasked with improving and maintaining the demonstration rooms at our head offices in Newmarket.”
Burley told CRN: “One of the services I will offer VARs is wiring diagrams for specific projects so they know where all the cables need to go. If they then need me to go in at the end of the project, I can. I can teach VARs the basics of IP, but it takes years to be able to trouble-shoot problems.”
