Fortinet completes database security line-up

UTM vendor puts the finishing touches to its FortiDB range of appliances

Unified threat management vendor Fortinet has claimed that the latest additions to its product line-up give it a complete arsenal of database security products.

The California-based vendor has unveiled the 400B and 200B models as the latest offerings in its FortiDB range of appliances. The range will now also benefit from increased functionality, including monitoring and auditing capabilities which Fortinet claims will help businesses achieve regulatory compliance with standards including PCI DSS.

The FortiDB-400B is targeted at the SME space while the 200B model will be sold into the large enterprise market. They join the mid-market-focused 1000B model and Fortinet claimed its VARs would now benefit from having a comprehensive line-up of database security appliances.

Chief technology officer Michael Xie said: "We believe data siphoning is and will continue to be a real and imminent threat for corporations of all sizes and requires solutions with breadth and depth to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliancy. The FortiDB was designed with this in mind by combining critical database security functionality into one platform that offers the greatest value to organisations of all sizes."
