Tandberg scouts for Excellence partners
Newly launched programme requires resellers to set up demonstration facilities
Video communications vendor Tandberg is looking for 30 partners across EMEA to join its new Centre of Excellence programme.
The scheme, open to all Tandberg partners that have obtained Accredited Services partner status, involves resellers setting up a high-specification demonstration facility, branded as a Centre of Excellence.
UK-based Tandberg Platinum partner Margolis Technology has become the first approved Centre of Excellence partner under the scheme.
Its Centre of Excellence includes products such as Tandberg’s 6000 Profile MXP, Centric desktop systems, the Movi Webcam Server and a fully integrated network infrastructure suite managed by the Tandberg Management System.
Scott Taylor, commercial director at Margolis, told CRN: “In the past we’ve had to take customers to Tandberg’s head office in Egham, whereas we are based in central London. Having our own facility should enable us to sell more sophisticated products and attract more local prospects.”
Tandberg is looking for another four or five UK partners to join the programme, which was officially launched last week.
Wayne Stephens, Tandberg’s EMEA director, partners and alliances, told CRN: “One of the barriers to growth is getting people to actually see videoconferencing (VC) technology in the flesh. Many people’s experience of VC is a few years old and the technology has improved immensely since then.
“We have been working with Margolis for the past six months on getting its Centre of Excellence up and running,” he said.
Tandberg will offer free training on how to run the centres.
