Kingston offers web training to partners
Memory and digital media vendor Kingston Technology has launched a web-based training programme for its European channel partners.
The online Academy aims to increase its partners’ knowledge and improve indirect channel sales with professional training on the vendor’s DRam memory products.
Ann Keefe, sales director for the UK and Ireland at Kingston Technology, said: “Whether partners are more technical or sales based they can find it at the Academy. The e-programme has taken more than a year to develop and new products will be incorporated.
“The memory market was tough last year and prices saw a drop. However, through the support of the channel, Kingston grew 12 per cent and the company plans to continue its growth through the launch of its Academy,” she added.
Keefe explained that the e-programme consists of six modules, each about a different area of memory technology. After each module a test is taken and when all six are completed the partner is awarded with a certificate.
“The modules can be completed any time, one a week, one a month or one a year,” she said.
Mark Russell, sales manager for SME business at online VAR WStore UK, said: “WStore rolled out the Kingston Academy to its sales team in December 2007 and had great results. It is an excellent tool for basic PC knowledge in an easy format.”
