Adventi has claimed to have created one of the largest independent IT and computer services VARs in Scotland

Adventi has claimed to have created one of the largest independent IT and computer services VARs in Scotland with its acquisition of reseller Scotsys.

Following the purchase, for an undisclosed sum, Edinburgh-based Adventi said it will have a combined turnover of £16m. John McAleenan, former managing director of Scotsys, will become the group’s managing director, while Adventi’s founder Graham Bucknall will become its strategy director.

Bucknall said: “We are looking to grow both sides of the business. We have already identified acquisition targets south of the border.”

The new group will focus chiefly on Microsoft and Apple.

“We look forward to the challenge of making Apple fit in, and stand out alongside Microsoft, in all Scottish networks,” said McAleenan.
