Check Point sweeps Vistorm to top spot

Vendor rewards reseller for around-the-clock managed services

Check Point has awarded VAR Vistorm top reseller status under its channel programme.

Vistorm joins Integralis as the security vendor's second UK Platinum Partner. Check Point has claimed the status was awarded in recognition of the firm's knowledge of its product range.

Viv Francis, UK channel manager at Check Point, said Platinum Partner status will only be awarded to a very small number of partners.

Vistorm offers 24-hour managed services based on Check Point's perimeter, internal and web security technologies.

"Vistorm is one of our top three UK partners and has set itself apart by investing in services and consulting," Francis said.

She added that the new accreditation reflects the VAR?s performance in these areas.

Vistorm recently announced plans to grow its security infrastructure services following a tough few years during the IT slowdown.

Donna Pittaway, security business manager at Vistorm, said because such status is limited to a small number of partners, it gives the VAR significant advantages. "We have ambitious plans for growth and this new status can only help," she said.

"This gives us early access to new technology. We will be trained up more quickly and create managed services around the vendor's offering."

Pittaway added that Check Point has been actively launching products over the past 18 months. "It has introduced new technologies that are driving it beyond the network gateway," she said.

Vistorm works with about 100 of Check Point's managed services customers, she added. "We will be looking to add products and services to existing customers and are seeking new ones," she said.

Separately, industry sources said Check Point will sign another distributor soon. It currently sells through Unipalm, Allasso and Westcon in the UK.
