DataCore Software has unveiled a free programme designed to help resellers simplify the deployment of Sans.
The firm's SANvantage Partner Program will offer training, support, marketing, consulting and demand-generation programmes to resellers selling storage equipment and infrastructure to enterprise customers, said Ken Horner, vice-president of marketing at DataCore.
The company, whose SANsymphony storage management software supports any storage and server environment, is sold only through the channel.
Bharat Kumar, director of marketing and communications for EMEA at DataCore, emphasised the channel-only strategy of the company. "We do not have the infrastructure to support the end-user, so this programme is enabling us to focus 100 per cent on our channel partners," he said.
"We have a very open systems approach, and with this initiative we are trying to educate the reseller community on how to sell and implement our solution in a wider market."
A key part of the scheme is a toolkit including VAR training, said Kevin Cookmeyer, business development manager for BellStor Systems Solutions, a storage product integrator and distributor. "The training is excellent and uses live Sans," he said.
The scheme also offers a package that helps resellers model client return on investment and total cost of ownership. Resellers can ask clients questions, fill in the blanks and then print out a report which shows cost comparisons or when they might run out of storage, Cookmeyer said.
