Norton reclaims Graydon Intelligence role

Alan Norton takes on his old role of head of intelligence at Graydon, as predecessor Ancell starts at C2000

Graydon has confirmed that Alan Norton is stepping into the role of head of intelligence as his predecessor Mark Ancell starts his new job at Computer 2000.

As predicted by CRN, Norton begins his new role on Monday, and part of his remit will be to ramp up Graydon’s Reseller Intelligence Network, which aims to get member resellers sharing information to prevent them becoming victims of fraud.

Speaking to CRN, Norton said: “I am very much relishing the challenge and my past experience working in the industry will help. It is an environment that I am looking forward to coming back to.

“I have gained more IT skills that will help with my role at Graydon. I am also looking forward to growing the Reseller Intelligence Network and helping more industry players to prevent fraudulent attacks,” Norton added. “The onus is moving from the distributors to the resellers and it is very important that resellers are properly prepared against the fraudsters.”

Martin Williams, chief executive of Graydon, said: “We are very happy to have Alan back on board. He was definitely the strongest candidate for the job.”

Norton was replaced by Mark Ancell in 2007 after he left to head up the firm’s financing arm Graydon Maxcredible.
