Leading edge-device solution cuts it

U4EA Technologies wins innovator accolade

The winner of the October CRN/Syscap Approved Technology Innovator of the Month award is U4EA Technologies, thanks to its adaptation of its intelligent quality-of-service (QoS) software for voice and data systems provider Ericsson.

Bristol-based U4EA adapted its Guarantee of Service QoS software to meet Ericsson's demands for its HL950 multi-service edge device.

Torben Warming, vice president of marketing at Ericsson, said: "This has given us control over invoicing and different services. U4EA understood how it needed to be integrated."

Peter Thompson, commercial director at U4EA, said the company was delighted to receive such recognition. "This was a significant challenge for us, because it required working very closely with Ericsson's engineers on tight timescales," he said.

"We had to master aspects of the platform they were using and the other components they were integrating to provide maximum assistance.

"This certainly stretched our skills and resources but it has put us in good shape to meet our customers' further needs."

The Innovator of the Month award is sponsored by Syscap and backed by vnunet.com's sister titles CRN and Computing.

Nine of the 11 monthly winners have already been named. All the winners will be short-listed for two annual awards - one for a private sector project and one for a public sector project - to be presented at CRN's Channel Awards on 19 November.
