Multimedia proves a moneymaker for DK
MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia is a good earner, according to results released last week by Dorling Kindersley.
The company showed, for the year ending 30 June, an increase in turnover of 26% on the same period last year. Pre-tax profits climbed to u17.4 million, up 37 per cent on last year's figure of u12.7 million.
The biggest boost came from multimedia sales. Turnover in this area rose by 62% to u21 million, compared to u13 million for 1995.
The company remains cautious about future business. Peter Kindersley, DK chairman and CEO, has said: "An imminent shake-out in the US multi-media market is likely to slow the rapid rate of growth that Dorling Kindersley has been experiencing."
