Entanet targets London Ethernet success

Shropshire-based distibutor launches November discount initiative to ramp up VAR Ethernet sales

London calling: throughout November customers served by one of the city's 38 exchanges are being offered discounts

Distributor Entanet has unveiled a discount bonanza aimed at helping VARs grab a lucrative piece of London's Ethernet market.

The promotion allows resellers to give customers served by one of the capital's 38 exchanges a variety of discounts. The offer is available until the end of this month for all end users buying Entanet's Ethernet Access Direct Service.

Offers include half-price connection, a free desk survey to determine excess construction costs – the first £5,000 of which are waived – and a 30-working day installation offer. The Ethernet Access Direct product is available in 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1Gbps offerings.

Entanet's head of marketing, Darren Farnden, claimed VARs would benefit from the product's standardised pricing, integrated resilience options, advanced test and diagnostic capabilities and short provisioning time. He added that waiving the first £5,000 worth of excess construction costs would nullify the biggest obstacle to Ethernet sales.

“Ethernet continues to represent a huge revenue opportunity for resellers and systems integrators," said Farnden. "The UK Ethernet market is forecast to grow to £1.3bn by 2013, and London is a significant contributor to this opportunity.

"Ethernet services make commercial and technical common sense for businesses that are heavily dependent on reliable connectivity, need to run critical applications, or simply require fast and always-on internet access."
