Ingram exec quits after just six months
Steve McAdam leaves 'by mutual consent'
Ingram UK senior executive Steve McAdam has left the company by mutual consent, the distributor has confirmed.
McAdam joined Ingram less than six months ago as director of specialist sales, a position created specifically for him, after working for IBM, ChannelWeb and Indus River Networks. He was responsible for the strategic sales direction of Ingram's components, storage and connectivity divisions.
"Ingram agreed that if he wished to move on the company would accept his decision," said an industry source close to the company. "As far as I know this is not the start of a jobs cull at Ingram, but it will be important for the business to find a replacement."
The company confirmed that McAdam had left the company but declined to comment further. A replacement has yet to be announced and McAdam's reason for departing is unknown.
Last week, Ingram UK announced it was to implement a recruitment freeze following slower than expected growth in 2000.
McAdam was unavailable for comment.
