Azzurri assures good service

VAR invests half a million pounds in Network Operations Centre

Networking VAR Azzurri has boosted its managed services offering by investing half a million pounds into upgrading its Leeds-based Network Operations Centre (NOC).

The company, which recently made its 12th acquisition in four years in the form of Chisholms Computers, claimed the investment will allow it to improve its range of managed services by allowing firms to outsource their IT and telecoms infrastructures.

Philip Parkinson, director of corporate solutions at Azzurri, said the firm is recruiting additional staff to cope with demand and is planning to build a similar operation at its Surrey premises.

"The NOC now has a glass area with plenty of screens so customers can actually see what is going on. It is more tangible.

"It also allows firms to concentrate on their core business while we take on the responsibilities of their network," said Parkinson.

Bob Dalton, vice-president of services at Logicalis, which also operates its own NOC, said Azzurri has made a wise move.

"This is a step in the right direction, although their offering is quite ambitious. Putting the interface in front of the technology puts emphasis on service delivery.

"Although it is a big investment, more firms are looking for outsourced IT services, so the demand is there," he said.
