Ingram signs Bullguard
Broadline distributor signs security vendor to help boost mobility offering
Ingram Micro has signed security vendor Bullguard as the distributor seeks to further plug gaps in its portfolio and continue its mobility expansion.
The distributor has been expanding its portfolio with a series of mobility vendors since the formation of its European mobility business team (CRN, 5 September), and has confirmed talks with other vendors.
Darren Seward, head of software at Ingram UK, saidthe addition of Bullguard will assist the realignment of the Ingram portfolio and boost resellers' margins.
"We can provide Bullguard with coverage across Europe and we want to become a one-stop-shop for customers. Bullguard also offers online back-up and resellers will also get 25 per cent renewable revenue," he claimed.
The distribution deal will include Bullguard's mobility security portfolio and Seward confirmed that other vendors will join the broadliner's ranks in the coming months.
"We are assessing our portfolio, looking at the gaps and there are some more vendors in the pipeline," added Seward.
Anthony Barker, channel director at Bullguard, said the firm can offer genuine reseller benefits and that Ingram can succeed in the mobility space.
"The Ingram push is huge at the corporate level, but it is not employing loads of staff, it is gearing up for expansion. The most appealing factor of the deal for us is the number of resellers we can reach through Ingram," said Barker.
