Telecoms distributor Crane and networking vendor Nortel Networks have both announced new chief executives.
West Sussex-based Crane has appointed David Grant, formally its chief operations officer, as its new chief executive. Grant replaces David George, who has held the position since founding Crane in 1990.
George will become executive chairman, but Crane claimed the two appointments will enable it to enter “a new phase of growth”.
Andrew Saunders, divisional managing director at Crane, said: “Grant’s role has expanded over the past five months and the reorganisation has helped to fine-tune our structure.”
Separately, Nortel has appointed Mike Zafirovski as its new chief executive. He will replace Bill Owens from 15 November.
Harry Pearce, chairman of the board at Nortel, said: “Zafirovski has the proven team-building leadership that has seen him create significant new value during his career. Zafirovski can build for the future.”
