Big deal for Blue Cube

Reseller to provide implementation, services and training in £3m T-Mobile deal

Size doesn't matter, it's the products and services you deliver, according to small security reseller Blue Cube after cementing a £3m deal with giant mobile operator T-Mobile.

Blue Cube is providing a managed intrusion detection system from Internet Security Services (ISS) worth £2m over three years, and network monitoring products from NetIQ costing £1m. The reseller is providing implementation, services and training as part of the deal.

Gary Haycock-West, managing director of Blue Cube, said: "It's all about deliverables. If you can deliver the products and services it doesn't matter how big you are."

Haycock-West said Blue Cube's relationship with T-Mobile began when the mobile operator became unhappy with one of its software vendors.

Bernie Dodwell, sales and marketing director at security distributor Allasso, said resellers are more than able to support major clients.

"When big companies use the channel, resellers move heaven and earth to provide good services," he said.
