Tarmin claims channel off to strong start

Heterogeneous storage vendor attracts 15 channel partners following October launch

Herzog: We will continue to expand our partner base in 2009

Active archive storage vendor Tarmin Technologies has recruited 15 resellers to its channel programme since launching in October.

Spread across the UK and the US, the 15 Tarmin Authorised Partners receive tools and training for themselves and their customers on how to deploy GridBank.

Tarmin’s GridBank product offers heterogeneous server and storage platforms to form a grid-based active archive solution. This enables fixed-content data preservation on secondary and tertiary storage tiers.

Eric Herzog, vice president of marketing and sales at Tarmin, said: “Channel partners are a critical cog in our go-to-market strategy. The early success of our partner programme is a strong indicator that GridBank enables an essential set of solutions that is resonating with resellers worldwide.

“Our commitment is to our channel and we look to continue to expand our partner-base over the course of 2009 and beyond.”

Bernie Boyce, managing director of UK-based Eurotech Computer Services, said: “We are proud to be a member of Tarmin’s Authorised Partner Programme.

“With Tarmin’s strong channel programme, sales support, and technical expertise, the decision to offer GridBank to our customers was an easy one. We know our Tarmin partnership will be lasting and mutually beneficial.”

Janet Waxman, vice president for infrastructure channels and alliances, at market watcher IDC, said: “Tarmin’s software-only model allows additional revenue opportunities for storage hardware and professional services for partners selling complete solutions.

“The success of Tarmin’s comprehensive partner program in this highly competitive market is a testament to the company’s commitment to the channel and its end user customers.”
