Vickerage: Has seen demand for communications offerings

Ten ICT channel players have been ranked in a newspaper’s list of private UK companies with the the fastest growing overseas sales.

According to the annual Sunday Times list, the International Track 100, which is part of the Fast Track 100 series of listings, Cheshire mobile phone recycler Eazyfone came in fourth, retailer Technoworld sixth, telematics services provider Cybit 13th, and hotel telecoms provider TeleAdapt 50th.

Video communications distributor Imago Group took spot number 54.

The list said that Imago saw its overseas turnover leap by 67 per cent between 2007 and 2009. The distributor has six offices across Europe and the UK, and has also opened offices in South Africa and China.

Ian Vickerage, managing director at Imago, said its business was not primarily about exports but nonetheless it was the only video communications firm listed.

“We have seen a rise in demand for solutions that help businesses to communicate better and this, together with a proactive approach, a lot of effort, and a skillful team has brought international success,” Vickerage said.

Number 63 on the list was IT consultancy Excelian, followed fast by ISV TextHelp Systems in 64th place.

Telecomms reseller Genuine Solutions took spot 66, with components broker Rebound Electronics coming in 87th.

IT optimisation provider 1E was 91st on the list.

According to the Sunday Times, the 100 companies listed improved their international sales by an average 83 per cent a year, from £768m to a combined total of £2.2 billion over their last two financial years.
