BT rings the changes - again
Phil Purssey replaced after just over a year at the helm and shoehorned into new role
BT has made yet another change to its channel team, this time announcing it will replace Phil Purssey with Ricky Ricketts as head of Indirect Partner Sales.
After just 13 months at the helm, Purssey will move across to a newly created role within BT’s Specialist Partner Sales Group, which houses the Indirect Partner Sales team.
Martin Roddy, director of BT’s Specialist Partner Sales Group, claimed the changes would help the carrier work “even more effectively” with its partner channel.
“This is an exciting time for the channel, and BT is committed to working with partners to provide the support they need to succeed in this changing business environment,” he said.
“To reflect partners’ requirements we have made some internal changes which we believe will help us to work even more effectively with the partner channel moving forward.”
Roddy said Purssey would play a “crucial role” in ensuring BT develops a strong proposition for the convergence and unified communications space.
Purssey said: “Having the right propositions in place for our partners will help to differentiate their position in the market. With a £10 billion investment in the 21st Century Network, BT will be at the forefront of the IP revolution. We will have capabilities that seemed almost impossible a few years ago. We need to get these productised and out to our partners, fast.”
