Judge replaces Deane at Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems has found a replacement for reseller partner development manager Pete Deane.

As revealed in PC Dealer (6 August), Deane is leaving the company to become MD of the UK branch of Sun reseller Horizon Open Systems. He will start on 18 August.

David Judge, manager of Sun?s partner development group, will replace Deane and oversee the merger of the partner marketing and partner development departments, liaising with corporate resellers, systems integrators and ISVs.

Commenting on his appointment, Deane said: ?My job will be to turn a small thriving business into a large and successful company. It?s a great challenge. It also means I can maintain my close ties with Sun from the other side of the fence.?

Deane has worked at Sun Microsystems for 12 years, joining when the entire European organisation operated from a small office in Ascot.

?I have watched Sun change from a company with an academic focus into a world player in the enterprise market,? he said.
