DiData inks global Check Point deal
Integrator foresees managed service success after agreeing worldwide partnership with security vendor
Tomorrow, the world: DiData has expanded its relationship with Check Point having already worked together in 25 countries
Integrator Dimension Data (DiData) has been certified as a Check Point Global Gold Partner and is targeting appliance success.
DiData has worked with both Check Point and Nokia's security appliance business – which was bought by Check Point in January – for a number of years. With its new status, the integrator will be tasked with ramping up sales of Check Point's software across the world, including its Software Blade offering.
DiData has a presence in 47 countries worldwide and has previously partnered with Check Point in more than half of those. Steve Joubert, DiData's group executive of global solutions, claimed the increased prominence of appliances in Check Point's business had been a factor in deepening the partnership.
“We feel that Check Point’s focus and growth in the appliance space presents a significant advantage to our customers and we are glad to enhance our collaboration through this upgraded partnership," he said.
"Check Point’s comprehensive quality portfolio, combined with the experience of our team of more than 400 security technical experts, grants our clients access to first-class advice and deployment of best-of-breed technology.”
Joubert added that his firm would do a significant amount of business through Check Point's Managed Service Provider (MSP) Programme. He claimed the programme's subscription-based contracts could prove popular in the current climate.
"Our clients across the globe can expect consistent implementation, integration, support and management of their security solutions,” he added.
Check Point's vice president of worldwide field operations Amnon Bar-Lev said he was "glad to welcome DiData on board".
“Dimension Data’s excellent technical and support expertise across our portfolio, as well as its procurement and logistics capabilities, will play a significant role enabling our mutual success and supporting clients in the current market," he concluded.
