Bell Micro sets its sights on signage SaaS sector

Distributor expands portfolio into hosted digital signage services with BroadSign deal

Bell Micro has announced the expansion of its digital signage market attack with the addition of vendor BroadSign’s managed offering.

Dirk Andreas, manager of the OEM and industrial sales team at Bell Micro Europe, said digital signage is a fast-growing market and software-as-a-service (SaaS) broadens the opportunity.

“We started with some display manufacturers over the past two years,” he said.

“But this is digital signage as a service rather than just shipping hardware. Our channel needs more.”

Andreas said Bell Micro had considered various players in the market, but felt that BroadSign had the most applicable digital SaaS.

“It is quite similar to signagelive’s service, but the architecture behind ours is different. There is also more than one fixed configuration,” he said.

Bell Micro wants a range of resellers for the service.“This will work for small and large firms and those with hundreds of displays,” he added.

Brian Dusho, chief executive of BroadSign, said: “[This] drastically lowers the cost of entry as it offers an all-in-one, easily installed system that can be fully managed.”
