Kingston Communications plays host to UKCES

Integrator wins web hosting contract from newly-formed employment and skills body

Integrator Kingston Communications has secured a contract from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) to provide a hosting service for its web site.

UKCES was established earlier this year with the aim of raising prosperity across the UK by focusing on the advancement of skills and employment opportunities.

Kingston Communications will provide UKCES with web hosting services, including a managed front-end server and database server, a 100MB internet link, firewall protection and support for the hardware and operating systems which the site sits upon.

Kevin Pyatt, head of IT and facilities for UKCES, said: “It was important that the supplier we selected was able to provide a flexible and scaleable solution that could grow alongside the developing requirements of a newly formed organisation.

“In addition to being an approved supplier within the Government’s Catalist procurement framework, Kingston Communications presented us with the most flexible and best value for money options.”

Karl Robinson, sales director for Kingston Communications’ South East region, added: “We are delighted to be working with the UKCES to provide a robust hosting solution to meet its needs. The UKCES website is a vital source of information on employment and skills for employers, individuals and government departments.

"Our facility at Global Switch provides the perfect environment in which to host it, and combined with our expertise in this field, offers unparalleled levels of security and availability.”
